These birds are amazing. Completely silent. This one flew about 6 inches about my head.
This image has been cropped and (slightly) photoshopped just to remove some unwanted background stuff (trees, tops of people's heads, etc.).
EDIT: There is a cleaned up version of this image, with far less grain. It is called Barn Owl "Cleaned Up", and is in my gallery. Please go and have a look at it, as it is far better!
Too bad the quality is so bad... The photo itself is very good though. You captured the motion very good, and at the perfect moment, when his wings were totally at the upright position.

This is absoloutly a very lucky capture, did you know that in some parts of the world having an owl fly over your head is luck, but in some parts it's cursed. You were very lucky with this shot but I do recommend a few things so you can improove the quality as well. The shot is just way too grainy, whihc is actually not your fault but the camera's. there are a couple of programs that you can use to make it better, there is the one I use: Neat Image You can download it for free for a limited time. f you do please note me so I can see the finished version
Thankyou for the comment!
The picture was taken with my Olympus OM10 35mm camera, and then scanned in. I think I set the scanner up wrong, so it came out all grainy
I'll have a play around with Neat Image. Thankyou for the link! It it works as well as it claims to, it'll be the solution to the problem!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
